Harry Redknapp names the winners of 2019/20 Champions League

Harry Redknapp is backing Manchester City to finally end the Champions League hoodoo next season.

The Etihad Stadium team has had remarkable success in recent years, including consecutive Premier League titles and a triple record in 2018/19.

But European glory has continuously alluded to them, including a painful quarter-final defeat at the hands of the Spurs in their  most recent campaign.

Liverpool rose to lift the iconic trophy in an all-English final against former Redknapp club Tottenham in Madrid.

But the legendary former coach believes that Pep Guardiola's men are the team to be defeated.

Redknapp, speaking as the brand's new ambassador in the #HeyHarry campaign of BetVictor, said: "I really feel that in the next few years, the Champions League will be made for English clubs.

"Next year we have Man City, I like them next year. I think it's their turn to win.

"If I had to bet on the winners next year, I would like to be with Man City."

Redknapp is anticipating more English dominance in 2019/20.

And he believes Liverpool are partly responsible for disarming Barcelona with their impressive semi-final victory, while the rebuilding of Real Madrid may take some time.

"I mean the two semifinals were two of the great games we're going to see," Redknapp said.

"Barcelona's game, which Liverpool's performance was incredible, then Tottenham's second-half return against Ajax was also incredible.

"I look around now and really can see ourselves dominating for years to come.

"I think it looks like Real Madrid is in decline, Barcelona does not look like it was, Liverpool showed there is nothing to fear."
