Stan Kroenke Arsenal owner handed huge £18.8 million bill amid summer transfer budget concerns

Los Angeles Rams, the Arsenal owner-led NFL franchise Stan Kroenke, was ordered to pay up to 18.8 million pounds ($24 million) to fans in St. Louis,  the team's former home.

Holders of personal seat licenses in St. Louis filed a class action lawsuit against the Rams after buying tickets to their stadium, known as The Dome,  for 30 years.

The lawsuit required seat license holders to receive 30 percent of their original purchase price and a refund for the nine years the sheep did not play in St. Louis as well as damages.

Kroenke moved the Rams to Los Angeles in 2016 after 21 years in Missouri. The American football team is currently playing at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but is due to enter a new stadium in Inglewood next year.

The complex in which the stadium will be built is expected to cost more than 3 billion pounds. Kroenke and his wife, Ann Walton, invested about £1.2 billion
 of their personal fortune in the project.

At the same time, Kroenke has yet to put his fortune into Arsenal, who became the absolute owner last year when he bought Alisher Usmanov's 30% stake in the club for £550m.

Kroenke is an even more unpopular figure in St. Louis than in north London, where social media fans protested last week amid a budget of just £45m for hirings  in the summer, after his decision to move away from Rams of the place. City.

The Rams' estate has been the subject of several other lawsuits since they left the city, including one involving the future ownership of what was the practice facility of the team and another of fans who bought tickets and goods in the final years of their time on St. Louis.
